'Sweater Weather' In Forecast Thursday, Friday Nights

Here's what you can expect for the next few days weather-wise.

When was the last time you said, “Let me grab a sweater,” before heading out for the evening? After highs Thursday ranging from 75 to 78 degrees — with noticeably low humidity — overnight lows in the Hudson Valley will dip into the mid-50s to low 60s.

So you might want to consider taking a sweater along if you go out Thursday night or when you leave for work Friday morning.

The fellows at Hudson Valley Weather said the reason is a Canadian air mass in place after the passage of the most recent cold front.

“We’ll see mostly sunny skies on Thursday and Friday … with low humidity and high temperatures falling a couple degrees short of 80,” they said. “The average high for this time of year is in the low 80s , so we should be a couple degrees below that. But with the low humidity included in the story, it’s going to feel relatively outstanding.”

  • Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 77. Northwest wind 11 to 15 mph.
  • Thursday Night: Clear, with a low around 58. Northwest wind around 6 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Friday: Sunny, with a high near 82. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.
  • Friday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 62. South wind around 5 mph becoming calm in the evening.
  • Saturday: Sunny, with a high near 79. Calm wind becoming south around 5 mph in the afternoon.
  • Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 64.
  • Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 82.
  • Sunday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 68.
