Tarrytown to Check for Water Leaks in Distribution System

The project will last about 10 days.

Tarrytown officials Monday announced the village will conduct a survey of its water distribution system to check for leaks.

The project - which begins this week - is expected to take about 10 days or so and will occur during daylight and overnight hours.

Residents will see a white van with the markings “NYLD” on the sides traveling slowly on village streets during this process. The van is from New York Leak Detection, with which the village contracted to conduct the survey.

“Workers may also be checking the water shutoff valves in the front yards and along the curbs,” Tarrytown Public Works officials said in a statement. “The workers will not be requesting access to your home.”
