TARRYTOWN, NY — You may be thinking about how many more days you can go to the beach, but the first day of school is just around the corner. With that in mind, here are important dates for the 2017-18 school year in the Tarrytown Union Free School District.

  • Superintendent's Conference Day (no school): August 30
  • Superintendent's Conference Day (no school): August 31
  • Labor Day (school closed): Sept. 4
  • First day of school: Sept. 5
  • Rosh Hashanah (school closed): Sept. 21-22
  • Columbus Day (school closed): Oct. 9
  • Superintendent's Conference Day (no students): Oct. 27
  • Veterans Day (school closed): Nov. 10
  • Thanksgiving (school closed): Nov. 22-24
  • Holiday recess: Dec. 25-29 (school resumes Jan. 2)
  • Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday (school closed): Jan. 15
  • Superintendent's Conference Day (no students): Jan. 29
  • Presidents Day (school closed): Feb. 19
  • Winter recess: Feb. 20-23
  • Superintendent's Conference Day (no students): March 9
  • Holiday recess (school closed): March 30
  • Spring recess: April 2-6
  • Snow Make-up Day #3: April 4
  • Snow Make-up Day #2: April 5
  • Snow Make-up Day #1: April 6
  • Memorial Day weekend (school closed): May 28
  • Half-day for students in grades K-8: June 20-22
  • Last day of school for students and staff: June 23
