Tarrytown Schools Under Lockout Because Of Threatening Email
The entire district was placed under lockout after the threat was received.

TARRYTOWN, NY — Schools in the Tarrytown district are under lockout Monday because a Sleepy Hollow High School teacher received a threatening email message.
A post by Superintendent Christopher Borsari on the district website said the email was shared with Sleepy Hollow Police who followed up with the Westchester County Intel Center and the Westchester County Police.
Even though the threat was considered to be non-credible, as it has been received by numerous school districts throughout the country, all schools in the district were placed on lockout under the end of the school day.
Lockout, Borsari said, is an emergency procedure where all normal activities occur within the school buildings, but recess and outside activities are also conducted inside.
A normal afternoon dismissal is planned and all after-school activities will occur as scheduled.
