TZB Lane Closing Scheduled, Tarrytown Toll Plaza Demolition Continues

The next shift in traffic will be later this month.

Since the cashless toll system is up and running, demolition of the deactivated Tarrytown toll plaza continues.

According to information from the Thruway Authority, Tappan Zee Constructors LLC is removing the toll plaza structures on the four right lanes of the southbound Thruway.

This is in preparation for the next shift in traffic scheduled for late May.

To facilitate survey work in the area, there will be a midday lane closure of one right lane from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday, May 10, 2016.

The location is the southbound Thruway near the former toll plaza.

Noise barriers will be continue to be constructed along the Thruway in South Nyack next week.

The work will include the construction of noise barrier foundations and the excavation of soil along the southbound Thruway between the South Broadway bridge and River Road.

Once the foundations are established, the concrete panels that form the noise barriers will be installed and then treated with sound-absorbing material.

Thruway officials said that all lane closures are subject to change due to traffic, weather or emergency situation.
