Viewing The TZB Demolition: Lyndhurst Has Mimosas
Piermont has designated some parking; The Journal News will live-stream it.

TARRYTOWN, NY — Viewing parties are proliferating for Saturday morning's scheduled demolition of the unstable anchor span of the old Tappan Zee Bridge.
Tappan Zee Constructors will use explosives to lower the damaged east anchor span so it can be removed. Then they'll inspect both the result and the new bridge to make sure everything's all right.
"Through extensive engineering analysis, it has been determined that this is the safest method to proceed with lowering the span given its current state," TZC said in a statement.

Piermont will be a great viewing spot. Note: the Piermont Pier will be closed to vehicular traffic that morning.
Lyndhurst, where there are great views of the bridges from the mansion's veranda, had basic and premium opportunities (including mimosas in the mansion's tower), and both sold out.

However, they pointed out, visitors may also walk on to Lyndhurst's grounds via the Old Croton Aqueduct at no charge.
Visitors should dress for cold weather.

Trouble with the anchor span developed as the old bridge was being dismantled. It became destabilized in September and engineers were worried it could fall. The opening of the second span of the new bridge was delayed.
This Saturday, officials estimate traffic will be stopped on I-87 for an hour from about 8:55 a.m. between exits 11 and 9. Those are the Nyack - South Nyack - US Route 9W Exit and the Tarrytown - Sleepy Hollow - Route 9 Exit on the New York State Thruway.
