Walmart Store Closing Affects Tarrytown-based Management Group

The closing of a Wisconsin Walmart has repercussions in the lower Hudson Valley.

Midtown Center, the largest retail center in Milwaukee, will be losing the Walmart, one of its anchor stores, Jan. 28, according to an article in Milwaukeee-Wisconsin Journal Sentinel.

Walmart announced Jan. 15 that it was closing 154 stores in the United States.

The shopping center is owned by an affiliate of developer DLC Management Corp., which is based in Tarrytown.

With the closing of Walmart, that puts Midtown Center’s occupancy rate at 46 percent, down from 86 percent.

The center had previously lost a Lowe’s home improvement store in 2009.

The Journal Sentinel said DLC Management Director of Marketing Rashawn Jackson declined to comment.
