wanted: businesses that will welcome FREE help from students

Some brilliant students, who will have access to top business leaders at Silicon Valley, will be working with local businesses

NOMINATE A LOCAL BUSINESS THAT WOULD LIKE TO RECEIVE FREE HELP AND ADVICE BY PARTICIPANTS IN THE GREENBURGH-ZUCKERBERG INSTITUTE POST PANDEMIC ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT INITIATIVE
About 40 students from almost every High School in Greenburgh have expressed interest in participating in the Greenburgh Zuckerberg Institute post pandemic economic development initiative.
Students working with Silicon Valley business leaders will work with struggling businesses helping them survive

A few weeks ago The Town of Greenburgh announced a partnership with Zuckerberg Institute, for a program which will aim to assist local businesses via an internship program targeted at increasing sales and overall economic sustainability for the selected businesses. The response has been overwhelming. Many brilliant students have already expressed interest in participating. Building on the success of the Town of Greenburgh’s summer intern program, interns for the business sustainability program (resumes are currently being submitted to the Town) will be assigned to each specific business with potential focus areas such as: building a dynamic website, search engine optimization, creation of social media accounts, Digital Advertising, etc. Zuckerberg Institute will be leading student interns to use their skills to help assist selected businesses. Students will have access to the top business leaders at Silicon Valley.

It is anticipated that businesses that have struggled due to the pandemic or as a result of online sales competition are those that can benefit most from the program. In addition to direct solicitation for the program from the Town to businesses, it would be great if our residents ‘nominated’ a favorite local business of theirs, by encouraging them to apply for the program. Please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com with names and contact info of local businesses who you think would benefit from this program. If you can Please help spread the word to the businesses we all love, support and rely on by making them aware of the program.

If you are a business that presently operates in the Town of Greenburgh (unincorporated portion) and have experienced decreased revenue from prior years, and want to participate in the program please e mail me at pfeiner@greenburghny.com. We hope to finalize the selection of a few businesses that will receive this support of this program sometime in January.

So far close to 40 students from High Schools around Greenburgh have expressed interest in being selected for this program- which will start in March and will last for three months. There will be a summer internship program as well. Randi Zuckerberg, sister of Facebook's founder CEO Mark Zuckerberg was the former director of Market Development for Facebook before starting this initiative. Town Clerk Judith Beville, Commissioner of Planning Garrett Duquesne are also working on this initiative.
