Westchester Mayors Meet to Show Opposition to Proposed Hudson River Anchorages

The written public comment period ends in September.

TARRYTOWN, NY — Mayors from across Westchester County will be meeting Monday in Yonkers to let people know they are opposed to the proposal to building 10 new barge anchorages in the Hudson River.

Yonkers Mayor Mike Spano is hosting the meeting, lohud.com said.

Requests from maritime organizations for new anchoring spots prompted the Coast Guard to consider putting 10 new anchorage grounds in the Hudson River from Yonkers to Kingston.
