When Do Schools Close, Reopen for Holidays 2016 in Tarrytown, Sleepy Hollow?
It's a short vacation this year in Tarrytown, Elmsford and Pocantico Hills based on when Christmas, Hanukkah and New Year's Day fall.
TARRYTOWN, NY — It's just the way the calendar falls in 2016. Christmas Eve is on a Saturday; Hanukkah is on a Sunday; New Year's Day is on a Sunday.
And that's why all three school districts' holiday vacations seem shorter than usual. Tarrytown students have Dec. 23 through Jan. 2 off. The schools are closed for Elmsford and Pocantico Hills from Dec. 26 through Jan. 2. And there you are, the end! School resumes Jan. 3, 2017.
