Thursday: Who's Got Showers, Heat, Internet?

Most businesses at this point are open and fully operational. It's the residents in outlying parts of the villages that are suffering colder nights without power. So our initial list of which businesses are open at all has morphed into a collection of who offers outlets, internet, cots, heat, showers.

• Tarrytown's Community Opportunity Center is opening as a warming shelter for the next few days, 24-7, says director Kristin Lanza. They are warm and welcoming, with 100 cots, a children's play room, big-screen television with movies (bring DVDs), crafts, internet, outlets, computers, couches, and even warm-cooked meals. • Tarrytown's Family YMCA offers showers, use of locker rooms, and toiletry kits to those in need and you don't have to be a member. Writes Melissa Weaver: "The American Red Cross has provided us with comfort bags which consist of towels, shampoo, soap, a razor, tooth brush tooth paste for anyone who would like to shower but may not have the supplies at hand. We have hair dryers available." Their hours are as follows: Monday through Thursday 5 am - 10:30 pm; Fridays 5 am to 10 pm; Saturday and Sundays 7 am - 7 pm
• Tarrytown Village Hall is open during regular hours from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. as a place for people to charge their devices. 
• W@tercooler's Jenifer Ross reports extended hours to accomodate folks who need recharging, but she encourages them to bring their own power strips. Ross writes: "Amidst all of the havoc - W@TERCOOLER, a shared work space in Tarrytown is open and busy housing members and non-members without power who need to charge up, connect to the internet, do work, or just warm up with some (new) friends. We will be open until 10pm ($10 per hour for desk time - free to use outlets to charge up) - and will be open all Friday and Saturday (closed Sunday) and open all next week with extended hours." • Goldberg Hardware in Tarrytown is out of D batteries but has extension cords and other supplies.
• Warner Library offers extended hours Thursday from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. 
• Coffee Labs is open and has wifi and a few outlets.
• Kosmos books will be open today and has...books!
• Au Naturel's owner has no power at home so she's here charging her devices and offering up this sale: "Protein Shakes, Wheat Grass mixes, trail mix, nuts and dried fruit and bars need no refrigeration! 10% off everything except Acure and Indie Lee Products now through the Friday! Come in and save!"
• C-Town has a few outlets upstairs but no public internet.
• McDonald's has a few outlets available. 
• Moon River Grill has internet and food. Owner Bob Ronan writes: "We have cable, WiFi and electricity! Stop on in."
• The Village of Sleepy Hollow reminds people that parks are still closed until further notice, including the dog park at Kingsland Point Park, due to still-dangerous conditions and possible tree limbs still falling.
• Greenburgh Supervisor Paul Feiner reports that The Theodore Young Community Center on 32 Manhattan Avenue, White Plains will stay open 24 hours a day until power is restored. "It's warm...a place to relax, there are showers." Phone at the center is: 989-3600.
