2 Charged In Robbery Spree Across 5 Precincts In Suffolk: Police

A 7-Eleven clerk was struck by what "appeared to be a gun" and was treated for "non-life-threatening injuries," police said.

SETAUKET, NY — Two men robbed at gunpoint a series of mostly 7-Elevens across five precincts in Suffolk County, police said Monday.

The robberies started on Oct. 24 when two people went inside 7-Eleven in East Patchogue at about 12:40 a.m. and “displayed a gun and demanded cash,” police said, adding that it was followed by “seven similar robberies.” The robberies included Holla Dollar in Bellport on Oct. 26 at about 7:25 p.m., then 7-Eleven in Ridge on Oct. 27 at about 1:20 a.m., police said.

Another four 7-Elevens were robbed in Central Islip, Brookhaven, Sayville, and Islandia between Dec. 3 and Dec. 12. A BP gas station was robbed in Islandia on Dec. 12, according to police.

Marcus Brown, 33, of Coram, and Jvon Creighton, 26, of Mastic, were arrested by the Major Case Squad following an investigation, police said. In the Islandia robbery on Dec. 12, Brown “struck an employee with what appears to be a handgun,” and the person was treated at a local hospital for “non-life-threatening injuries,” police said.

Brown was arrested in front of his home on Sunday at about 10:15 a.m. and he was charged with seven counts of first-degree robbery, police said. He was arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Monday.

Creighton was arrested outside of a parking lot on Technology Drive in Setauket at about 10:30 a.m. also on Monday and he was charged with two counts of first-degree robbery, however, “other charges are expected,” according to police. He will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip on Dec. 14.

The investigation is continuing, police said.
