THREE VILLAGE, NY — American flags decorated the grounds of the Three Village Central School District this week as students and staff members marked the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

Students at Nassakeag and Minnesauke elementary schools planted hundreds of small flags alone around the school’s flagpole and grounds. The anniversary week was also recognized with moments of silence and grade appropriate conversations about the significance of 9/11 and the importance of remembering the people who died, as well as the first responders and volunteers who helped with the rescue and recovery efforts.
