The Atelier Art School & Gallery presents Oksana Danziger’s “Eco Printing” workshop Thurs, Oct 15

The basic principle of eco printing is that various leaves and plant materials (fresh or dried) possess tannins that have the innate ability to print permanent color onto fabric fibers when combined with the proper technique and procedure. The process usually involves a form of heat and pressure to create a distinctive print. You can achieve the most amazing prints and colors just by using natural elements which don’t harm our planet. An eco print can never be repeated, because every leaf is unique, even the two sides of that leaf are different.

Oksana Danziger is a natural-born creator with a passion for textile art. She has exhibited tapestry, silk paintings and fabric fine art collages throughout Russia's galleries and museums after graduating from Moscow State Textile University where she received a Master's Degree.

Since moving to New York City, where she lives and works today, she's sold collections of her silk scarves at Henri Bendel in Manhattan and had a solo exhibition of silk paintings in Gallery One in Soho, New York. She regularly exhibits her work at the Art League of Long Island and Long Island Craft Guild.

Oksana teaches classes and workshops at Nassau Museum of Art, Gallery North, The Art Guild, Huntington Art Council, and The Atelier.

This “Eco Printing” workshop will take place in our newly renovated gallery in St. James on Thursday, October 15th at 10AM-1PM. The cost is $110 per person which includes all materials to create a beautiful silk scarf to bring home.
