Middle Country Middle Schoolers Present Research for District's National History Day Symposium

Centereach, N.Y. (January 2020)—Middle Country Central School District is proud to recognize its eighth-grade students from Dawnwood and Selden Middle Schools for recently presenting their research projects to the Middle Country school community. As part of the district’s National History Day Symposium at each building, students were selected by their social studies teachers for their thorough research and commitment to their studies. Participants shared their knowledge and research to a large audience comprised of parents, district staff, administrators, and members of the Board of Education.
As part of the district’s capstone research initiative, these students began their research in fifth grade and will continue throughout their high school years. Several of Middle Country’s students will also be working closely with the National History Day advisers, Ms. Lowe at Selden and Ms. Strong at Dawnwood, to hone their projects for Long Island History Day at Hofstra University in March.
