MCSD Announces January Students of the Month

Centereach, N.Y. (February 2020)—The Middle Country Central School District is proud to begin the new decade by recognizing four students who have been named students of the month for January. Centereach High School senior Kayleigh Scuderi, Newfield High School senior Ashley Wall, Dawnwood Middle School eighth grader Grace D’Acampora, and Selden Middle School eighth grader Mohemeen Ahmed, have demonstrated academic excellence, athletic achievements, perseverance and good character.

“Each month, it brings all of us here in the Middle Country School District an overwhelming feeling of fulfillment to celebrate the remarkable achievements of our students,” said Dr. Roberta Gerold, Superintendent of Schools. “Congratulations to Kayleigh, Ashley, Grace and Mohemeen for carrying themselves as distinguished role models in the District. We’re so proud of all that they’ve accomplished, and we look forward to seeing how they will all continue to grow.”

Kayleigh Scuderi is a senior at Centereach High School. Her academic excellence as a high school student earned her the rank of number 22 in the senior class. Kayleigh is one of a handful of seniors that act as the driving force behind several activities for the senior class. As GO vice president and previously serving as sophomore vice president, Kayleigh is dedicated to any cause she puts her mind to. Whether its through the District or Girl Scouts, her ability to organize and motivate those around her is apparent to all. Kayleigh is recognized as someone who is quick with a smile, takes instruction well, is thoughtful and helpful towards others, and is a pleasure to have in class. In the fall, Kayleigh will be taking her infectious personality and talents to the college level, hoping for an acceptance to Binghamton University.
