Motorcyclist Killed In Suffolk County Crash
It was the second of two fatal motorcycle crashes on Long Island Sunday.

SELDEN, NY – A 50-year-old man was killed a motorcycle crash in Suffolk County Sunday night in the second fatal crash involving a motorcycle on Long Island of the day.
According to Suffolk Police, Charles Ciapi was driving a motorcycle out of a parking lot and onto Route 25 at the intersection of Blue Point Road in Selden when he was struck by a 2013 Hyundai SUV that was traveling east on Route 25 at about 9:45 p.m.
Ciapi, of Selden, was transported by ambulance to Stony Brook University Hospital where he was pronounced dead. The driver of the Hyundai, 19-year-old Julia Leyboldt, of West Sayville, was not injured.

Both vehicles were impounded for safety checks. The investigation is continuing, and police are asking anyone with information about the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
Earlier Sunday, a 26-year-old man died after being ejected from his motorcycle and then struck by a taxi on the Southern State Parkway in Nassau County.
