Motorcyclist Killed In Southern State Crash

A 26-year-old man was ejected from his motorcycle and then struck by a taxi on the Southern State Parkway early Sunday.

BALDWIN, NY – A 26-year-old man was killed when he was ejected from his motorcycle and then struck by a taxi on the Southern State Parkway early Sunday, State Police said.

According to police, Elliot Estrada Jr. was riding a 2013 Yamaha motorcycle eastbound on the Southern State east of Exit 20 in Baldwin when the motorcycle rear-ended a 2012 Hyundai Elantra shortly after 2 a.m. The impact caused Estrada to ejected from the motorcycle and into the roadway where he was then struck by a 2003 Ford Crown Victoria taxi.

Estrada, of Ronkonkoma, was pronounced dead at the scene. The drivers of the Ford and the Hyundai remained at the scene and did not sustain any injuries.
