Officer And Paramedics Help Deliver Baby Boy After Woman Goes Into Labor In Stony Brook Home: Police

The healthy infant was delivered at around 10:16 p.m. on Tuesday, Suffolk police say.

STONY BROOK, NY — A police officer and paramedics from Stony Brook Volunteer Ambulance Corps helped deliver a baby boy in a Stony Brook home on Tuesday night, Suffolk police said.

Sixth Precinct Officer Brian Granata was called to a Parish Court home for a report of a woman
in labor just before 10 p.m., and when he arrived, she was in labor in a hallway of the home, according to police.

Granata helped paramedics from the Stony Brook Fire Department, and they delivered a healthy baby boy at around 10:16 p.m., police said, adding, that the woman, 37, and her son were taken to Stony Brook University Hospital in good condition.
