And while you’re at it, visit spyring.emmaclark.org for a map, links to recommended websites, a recommended reading list, photographs, and the general story of the spy ring. Emma Clark Library and Beverly C. Tyler created a self-guided walking/driving tour and interactive Google Map for residents, visitors, and anyone interested in exploring the sites that figured in the operation of the Culper Spy Ring. You may follow the tour whenever you wish and at your own pace. You may see all of the sites at once or just a few at a time. This tour is perfect for residents looking to learn more about their local history, visitors of Long Island, teachers and children studying the American Revolution, home school groups, or any history buff!
There is also an audio tour that you can access by calling 631.498.4740. Paper handouts are located at the library for those who do not have access to the internet or a cell phone…or prefer to do it the “old-fashioned” way!
