Se-Port Deli Unveils New Sandwich, Expansion Plans

The Clictor added to menu as owner talks expanded menu and cafe.

Many of Se-Port Deli's locally famous sandwiches came from employee ideas, and its newest addition, "The Clictor," for which an official menu sign will go up today, is no different.

Featuring chicken cutlet, bacon, melted American cheese, Russian dressing, lettuce, tomato and hard boiled eggs on a toasted garlic hero, The Clictor sells for $8.75.

"It comes with a pickle and a side salad," said co-creator Victor Collado, "and of course a smile."

Collado, who has worked at Se-Port for two years, came up with the idea for the sandwich together with manager Sean Gafferty.

"It wasn't busy one day and so we started thinking of a new sandwich," Collado said. "It's like a Boone, but with eggs and a garlic hero."

The sandwich isn't the only new development at Se-Port.

Owner Wisam Dakwar will soon begin renovating the twelve-year-old deli to take over the vacant space which currently separates the deli and its closest neighbor, interior design shop Samantha Drew. He is waiting for the right permits, which he said have taken two years to obtain so far, and hopes to complete the work by February. Dakwar is the owner of the building occupied by Se-Port and Samantha Drew.

He also plans to add healthier selections to the menu, including a custom salad station. He's been getting requests but just doesn't have the space to put one in right now.

"It's going to be nice," Dakwar said. "More space for everybody."
