The Stony Brook University Hospital Blood Bank Needs Donors

The summer is one of the most challenging times of the year to collect blood and platelet donations.

The Blood Bank at Stony Brook University Hospital is urgently seeking donors. Summer is one of the most challenging times of the year to collect blood and platelet donations and blood product inventories across the country reach critically low levels following the 4th of July holiday. It takes less than an hour to donate blood and a little longer to donate platelets. When you donate at the Stony Brook University Hospital Blood Bank your donation stays at the Hospital and one donation can save the life of up to 3 patients. You can help our community by becoming a donor.

While supplies last, all blood donors will receive a “Missing Type” t-shirt and platelet donors will receive a game day cooler (a collapsible cooler that doubles as a comfy seat).

Help us get the word out. The Stony Brook University Hospital Blood Bank needs blood and platelet donors!
