Three Hospitalized in Commercial Building Fire
Fire at printing press under investigation.
A fire at a printing press started shortly before 12:20 p.m. today in East Setauket and hospitalized three workers with burn injuries, according to Setauket Fire Department Chief Brendan Brown.
A small fire, Brown said, originated underneath a printing machine and took roughly two minutes to extinguish at Printing Spectrum, located at 12 Research Way.
Fire departments responding to the call included Terryville, Stony Brook, and Centereach, while Port Jefferson Volunteer Ambulance was requested for an ambulance on stand-by.

"A printing press sparked up and went on fire," said Jim Altebrando, who was working inside the building when the fire started. Altebrando said there didn't appear to be any visible damage.
Fire officials say the cause of the fire is unknown at this time and is under investigation by the Suffolk County Police Arson Squad.
