Veterans Tribute Night this Evening at PJS Summer Concert Series

Leg. Kara Hahn asks community to help veterans in need by donating personal care items during collection drive at 7/28 concert performance.

This evening - July 28th - is Veterans Tribute Night at the Port Jefferson Station-Terryville Summer Concert Series. The night will feature a performance from Just Sixties, the longest-running Sixties tribute band in the United States and host a personal care item drive to benefit veterans throughout Suffolk County.

All donated personal care items and household cleaning supplies collected will be provided to Long Island Cares’ Veterans Project and distributed to veterans in need. If you are unable to make it to Train Car Park tonight but still wish to donate, please contact Legislator Hahn’s office at 631-854-1650 to schedule a time to drop-off items to her office located at 306 Main Street in Port Jefferson. Donations are being accepted through Friday, July 30th.

Being accepted are packaged sponges, household cleaning supplies, dish detergent, laundry detergent, hand towels, shampoo and conditioner, soaps, toilet paper, paper towels, sanitary items and other new and unused personal care and household cleaning items. All donations must be unopened, in their original packaging with no rips or tears.

The Veterans Project was established by Long Island Cares in 2010 to assist veterans having financial difficulties and provide humanitarian aid to our region’s veterans.
