Fifteen Ward Melville High School seniors have been named finalists in the 2014 National Merit Scholarship Program. These academically talented seniors were first honored as semifinalists earlier this year based on their Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test results – a test that serves as an initial screening of approximately 1.5 million entrants each year – and by meeting published program entry/participation requirements.
As finalists, the seniors will have the opportunity to continue in the competition for some 8,000 National Merit Scholarships worth approximately $32 million. The district congratulates the following finalists:
