• Riley introduces measure to eliminate taxes on utility bills (midhudsonnews.com) — Tompkins County residents are directly included in a new bipartisan proposal from Rep. Josh Riley to let taxpayers deduct all taxes and state surcharges on their gas and electric bills. Riley says Upstate families, including those in Tompkins, are facing an “emergency” with high utility costs, and this federal bill aims to ease that burden for both households and small businesses.
