Albany man gets 25 years for shooting at Troy police (troyrecord.com) — A man from Albany has been sentenced to 25 years in state prison for shooting at Troy police officers during a 2024 incident near 10th and Jacob streets. Troy officials say the conviction, which includes post-release supervision, underscores their focus on public safety and sends a strong message about accountability for violence against law enforcement in the city.

Columbia softball ends 17-year drought, captures Section 2 championship (timesunion.com) — Columbia High’s softball team snapped a 17-year championship drought Monday night in Troy, edging Queensbury 5-4 for the Section 2 Class AA title at Lansingburgh High School. Local fans saw big hits from several Blue Devils and a tense final inning, as Columbia now advances to the state regional round later this week.
4. ARREST: Como, Angelica L. (crimewatch.net) — Police in Saugerties say a 28-year-old Troy resident, Angelica Como, was among three people arrested early Tuesday after an alleged burglary and assault in progress. Como and two others face felony burglary and criminal mischief charges, with Como also charged with drug possession, and all are awaiting arraignment in Kingston.
