Troy man found guilty of criminal possession of weapon (news10.com) — A 32-year-old Troy resident has been convicted of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon after a week-long trial stemming from a Gun Involved Violence Elimination detail involving Troy Police and other agencies. Authorities say he is a persistent violent felony offender and faces up to 25 years to life, with sentencing set for July 1, underscoring ongoing efforts to keep illegal guns off Troy streets.

Empire State Youth Orchestra spotlights 600+ young musicians in Capital Region (cbs6albany.com) — Troy music lovers can catch Empire State Youth Orchestra’s Symphony Orchestra at Troy Savings Bank Music Hall on Sunday, April 26, featuring a concerto winner and major symphonic works. Additional spring concerts across the Capital Region include a May 2 performance by a violinist who attends Emma Willard School in Troy, plus several ensemble showcases through late May.
   

4. Halfmoon man indicted for allegedly concealing 13 dead dogs in garbage bags (timesunion.com) — A Troy woman has pleaded guilty in an Albany County animal cruelty case connected to 13 dead dogs, while her boyfriend from Halfmoon now faces multiple evidence-tampering charges in Saratoga County. The dogs reportedly died from extreme heat in a parked RV, and the woman is expected to serve six months in jail followed by five years of supervision.
