UB’s women host D’Youville on Oct. 28 and the men face Mercyhurst in an exhibition, giving students and neighbors early chances to see how both teams are shaping up. 
• Study: Pandemic arrest patterns may have deepened existing inequalities in policing (phys.org) — University at Buffalo researchers helped show how pandemic-era policing in Irondequoit, near Rochester, intensified existing racial disparities in arrests, especially for nonviolent offenses. Their suburban-focused study suggests that crises like COVID-19 can worsen systemic inequalities, and they argue more research is needed to guide fairer responses during future periods of upheaval.
