UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The Upper East Side’s legal weed footprint just got bigger with the arrival of two new dispensaries in Carnegie Hill and Lenox Hill.

This brings the total number of legal cannabis stores on the Upper East Side to 10, according to the New York State Office of Cannabis Management.

Most recently, AVA Flower Co. opened on 1280 First Ave. on the corner of East 69th Street on Jan. 2, according to the New York State Office of Cannabis Management. The shop has taken over a space that used to be a sushi restaurant called Bamboo Sushi, which closed in 2024.
