$26M Townhouse Sells On The Upper East Side

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — It was a busy week for the luxury real estate market on the Upper East Side, with 20 deals closing over the $4 million mark, including 11 co-ops, six condos, and three townhouses, according to the latest data from the Olshan Report.

The most expensive home on the Upper East Side this week was a townhouse on East 81st Street that sold for $26,000,000, the Olshan Report said.

The chart-topping townhouse was previously owned by author and business expert Suzy Welch, whose late husband, Jack Welch, ran General Electric for two decades, according to the New York Post. The townhouse is located at 160 East 81st St., between Lexington and Third avenues.

The double-wide, four-story home features seven bedrooms, five bathrooms, two powder rooms, a large private garden, a wood-paneled library and several fireplaces.
