Swanky Clinic's Members Got In-Home Coronavirus Test, Reports Say

The membership only Sollis Health clinic tested its high-paying clients while the state placed strict rations on other New Yorkers.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A medical practice that only accepts members who pay $5,000 per year was able to acquire coronavirus testing kits for its patients at a time when New York State's testing capabilities were limited to just hundreds per day, according to reports.

Sollis Health, which has locations on the Upper East Side and in Tribeca, tested at least 100 people for coronavirus through a partnership with the biochemical company Enzo Clinical Labs Inc, Reuters first reported. These patients were tested in their own homes in early March, when the state was placing strict restrictions on who was eligible for testing, two sources told Reuters.

According to Reuters' report, Sollis only tested members who showed symptoms of coronavirus, which include cough, fever and shortness of breath. The report still calls into question the relative ease at which certain members of society can obtain the test. Government officials, star athletes and celebrities seemingly jump to the start of the line when they need testing.
