83-Year-Old Woman Pushed At UES Subway Station, Police Say

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Police are searching for a suspect who pushed an 83-year-old woman to the ground inside an Upper East Side subway station and then robbed her, New York City Police Department officials said.

According to the NYPD, the victim was on the mezzanine of the East 86th Street subway station at 10:20 a.m. on March 30 when the man pushed her to the ground and took $20. The woman was buying an OMNY card before the robbery, police said.

The victim was treated at the scene for minor injuries, and the suspect left the station and ran away, police said.

Police are investigating the incident and have released a photo of the suspect.

The man was last seen wearing a dark colored hat, black jacket, gray sweatshirt, dark colored pants and dark colored sneakers, police said.
