Award-winning author Dara Horn joins Coleman Hughes for a searching conversation about dismantling the myths of antisemitism — and her new book, The Final Solution to the Jewish Question: A Love Story for the Living.
After publishing the award-winning People Love Dead Jews — a landmark examination of the ways contemporary culture sentimentalizes Jewish suffering while ignoring Jewish life — Dara Horn heard from thousands of people, online and in person, demanding solutions. In her new book, she takes the next step — not only tracing the myths that have spread antisemitism from antiquity to the present, but asking what can actually be done about them. Drawing on deep historical research, investigative reporting, and her own front-row view of the post-October 7 landscape — from Harvard’s Antisemitism Advisory Group to conversations with government leaders, educators, and communities across North America — Horn explores the failures of Holocaust education, the compromises of the American Jewish “Golden Age,” and the new battlegrounds of artificial intelligence and public memory.
What can be done — in the halls of power, in our communities, in Silicon Valley and beyond — not only to condemn antisemitism, but to stop it in its tracks? Hear Horn and Hughes in a discussion about how we got here — and the future we still have the chance to build.
All in-person tickets include a copy of the book.
