Coffee Project Opening First Upper East Side Shop

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Coffee Project New York is bringing its specialty brews and signature "deconstructed latte" to the Upper East Side this weekend, the company told Patch.

The independent coffee roaster and café will open its newest shop Sunday at 1219 First Ave., at East 66th Street, according to the company.

The 700-square-foot shop will include an intimate seating area and a dedicated pour-over bar attached to the main coffee counter, the company said.

Its menu will feature seasonal drinks, fresh pastries and a rotating selection of pour-over coffees. Among the offerings will be a natural-process coffee from Samir Estate in San José de Ocoa, Dominican Republic.

Also on the menu is "Project #1," or the "Deconstructed Latte," which serves the components of a traditional latte separately on a tray to showcase their individual flavors.

Chi Sum Ngai and Kaleena Teoh founded Coffee Project New York in 2015.

The company now operates eight locations across Manhattan, Queens and Brooklyn.

The Upper East Side shop will open to the public on Sunday, Sept. 13.
