First Roosevelt Island Mobile Testing Site Open This Weekend

A mobile COVID-19 testing site will be available for the first time on Roosevelt Island this weekend.

ROOSEVELT ISLAND, NY – A mobile COVID-19 testing site will be available for the first time on Roosevelt Island this weekend.

The site will be open on Saturday and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. at 543 Main Street, Good Shepherd Plaza.

Testing is free and available to anyone regardless of immigration status and does not require insurance.

Roosevelt Island is currently experiencing a 2.7 percent seven-day positivity rate, according to Manhattan Borough President Gale A. Brewer.

"Roosevelt Islanders deserve dedicated resources for dealing with coronavirus, and I am proud to champion this effort with the NYC Test and Trace Corps., and the Roosevelt Island Operation Corporation," Brewer said in a prepared statement. "I encourage all Roosevelt Islanders to take advantage of this free testing resource this weekend and to share this information with their neighbors."
