'The Longest Table' Plans Massive UES Potluck This July

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The Longest Table, a neighborhood potluck where neighbors eat alongside each other at a massive table the length of a street block, is planning to come to the Upper East Side for the first time this July.

This event, sponsored by Lenox Hill Neighborhood House, will be on Wednesday, July 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. on East 71st Street between First and Second avenues, according to the organization.

The event was initially scheduled to happen in June, but it was rescheduled for the July date.

"Everyone in the neighborhood is invited to bring their own meal and come take a seat at the table for the special opportunity to socialize, have conversations and get to know each other," the initial application for the event reads.

The first Longest Table event happened in Chelsea in 2024, and since then, it's been held in other New York City neighborhoods and cities across the country.
