Man Pistol-Whipped, Robbed In Front Of Upper East Side Home: Police
The victim was followed before the robber assaulted him as he tried to enter his Lenox Hill building, officials said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A man was pistol-whipped and robbed in front of his Lenox Hill apartment building on Friday evening, according to police.
At about 10:30 p.m., a man was walking towards his apartment on East 73rd Street between First and York avenues, police said.
Behind him was another, unknown man who approached the victim as he tried to enter his home, hitting him with his fist, according to officials.

The crook then pulled out a pistol and hit him with it, police said.
Initial reports claimed that a shot was fired, but police said that they no longer believe that the gun went off.

The crook stole a bag the man was carrying — which contained credit cards, $400 cash and a pair of airpods — and fled in a vehicle heading west on East 73rd Street, police said.
No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing, police said.
