Police are searching for a man who slashed a 53-year-old rider in the chest on a 4 train approaching the 86th Street station.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A 53-year-old man was slashed in the chest aboard a northbound 4 train approaching the 86th Street station, New York City Police Department officials said Thursday.

The attack happened around 10:10 p.m. on Sept. 11 as the train approached the 86th Street station at Lexington Avenue, according to the NYPD.

A man approached the victim, argued with him and slashed his chest with a sharp object, police said. The attacker then got off the train at 86th Street and fled, police said.

Medics treated the victim at the scene for minor injuries, police said, and no arrests have been made yet.
