Fashion Bandit Takes Alligator Shoes From Ralph Lauren Shop: NYPD

The shoplifter also got away with a jacket and pair of pants.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — The NYPD is trying to identify a shoplifter who swiped some pricey items from a luxury retailer on the Upper East Side.

The man entered the Ralph Lauren men's store on Madison Avenue and East 72nd Street around 4 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 30, police said. While inside the store, the man picked out a jacket, pants and a pair of alligator-skin shoes, police said.

The man then fled the store without paying for any of the items, police said. The shoplifter's haul is valued at $5,000, police said.

Police released surveillance photos (seen above) of the suspect Friday. The suspect was last seen wearing a three-quarter length winter coat with a fur collar and a gray knit cap.
