Mega-Mansion To Replace 10-Unit Apartment Building On The UES: City Docs

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A 10-unit apartment building on the Upper East Side is slated to become a single-family mega-mansion, according to documents recently filed with the city.

Developer David Amirian bought 34 East 70th St. between Madison and Park Avenues for $20,720,000, a new deed transfer filed Wednesday shows.

The building, which previously had 10 units and five stories, will become a single-family residence spanning 12,500 square feet, according to permit filings.

The property was purchased already gutted, and the sale included construction plans previously approved by the Landmarks Preservation Commission.

The megamansion will feature eight bedrooms, seven full bathrooms, and a powder room. The building will also include a rooftop terrace, several walk-in closets, a swooping staircase, and a study, Patch previously reported.

The building was sold to Amirian by Douglas Development.
