Nicole Kidman May Move To Upper East Side: Reports
Oscar-winning actress Nicole Kidman could be moving into an Upper East Side home once rented by Michael Jackson.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Nicole Kidman could be the latest celebrity to own an Upper East Side townhouse that recently hit the market with an eight-figure asking price, according to multiple reports.
Kidman's country star husband Keith Urban is reportedly planning to buy 4 E. 74th St. — located between Fifth and Madison Avenues — so that the Oscar-winning actress can move to New York City in pursuit of roles on Broadway, Woman’s Day first reported.
The home was listed by luxury real estate agent Adam Modlin for $39 million. Modlin told real estate publication Curbed that "while there are several interested parties in the house, no deal has been made yet and a contract has not been signed. The house is available."

The six-story townhouse is more than 100 years years old and was designed in the Beaux-Arts style by architect Alexander Welch, according to a listing with the Modlin Group. The home features 12,745 square feet of space and a total of 16 different rooms. Seven of the rooms are bedrooms and eight are bathrooms, according to the listing.
The home has a pedigree of celebrity residents. Michael Jackson rented the home for nearly a year between August 1999 and February 2000, the New York Times reported in 2000. Nearly sixty years before Jackson shacked up in the townhouse, influential 20th century artist Marc Chagall lived in an apartment on the building's top floor, according to the report.

The historic home is also famous in its own right. The East 74th Street townhouse was a filming location in the T.V. series "Gossip Girl," Curbed first reported. In the show, the building's exterior served as a the home of main character Nate Archibold.
