A tourist with measles was at The Met on Feb. 16 and again on Feb. 19, state health officials said.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Australian tourist with measles visited The Metropolitan Museum of Art as well as several hotels and medical facilities in New York, and health officials say others may have been exposed to the disease. The tourist was in the Oasis Bible Tours group's visit at The Met on Feb. 16 and again on Feb. 19, state health officials said.
The measles is a "serious respiratory disease" that is extremely contagious and causes a rash and fever, state health officials said.
"You can catch it just by being in a room where someone with measles coughed or sneezed," officials said in a fact sheet.
