Train Hits And Kills Person On Upper East Side, FDNY Says
The person was hit by a train at the East 96th Street and Lexington Avenue station.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A person was struck and killed by a train Wednesday afternoon at an Upper East Side subway station, an FDNY spokesman said.
The person was hit at the East 96th Street and Lexington Avenue subway station around 12:25 p.m., an FDNY spokesman said. EMS pronounced the person dead at the scene, the spokesman said.
The FDNY spokesman could not confirm how the person was struck or any identifying details about the person.

Trains were re-routed on the Lexington Avenue line as emergency personnel operated on the scene at East 96th Street, according to the MTA. Some trains on the 5 line were rerouted to the 2 line between Nevins Street and 149th Street-Grand Concourse and 6 trains ran express between 125th Street and 42nd Street-Grand Central, the MTA announced.
