Woman, 80, Killed By Taxi On Upper East Side, Police Say
The Upper East Side woman was crossing East 70th Street and Third Avenue when she was hit.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — An Upper East Side woman was struck and killed by a taxi while crossing the street Friday night, police told Patch.
Barbara Horn, 80, was walking in the intersection of East 70th Street and Third Avenue around 5:45 p.m. when she was hit by a yellow cab, police told Patch. The taxi was traveling east on East 73rd Street and was attempting a left turn onto Third Avenue at the time of the collision.
First responders discovered Horn unconscious and unresponsive, suffering from severe trauma to the body, police said. EMS transported Horn to New York Presbyterian Hospital where she was pronounced dead. She was a resident of East 73rd Street.

The taxi driver stayed on the scene of the collision and was not arrested, police told Patch.
