The new restaurant, Tavern62, will open this week in the same space as Burke's old Upper East Side eatery Fishtail.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Chef David Burke is brining his innovative cuisine back to the Upper East Side. This week Burke's new restaurant, Tavern62, will open in the same space as the renowned chef's old Upper East Side eatery Fishtail, according to a press release.
Tavern62 will be Burke's first venture with new partner ESquared Hospitality, according to the press release. The new tavern will be located at 135 E. 62nd ST. and will feature both a pared-down lunch menu and more upscale dinner fare.
Burke will be working with Executive Chef Ed Cotton, who worked at Fishtail for two years. The restaurant will feature menu items such as Kobe skirt steak frites, octopus carpaccio and butterscotch panna cotta. The restaurant will also feature a wine list curated by Sommelier Manny Paredes, according to the press release.

"I am so excited to launch Tavern62 by David Burke as an original New York City concept with ESquared Hospitality," Chef Burke said in the press release. "Our inspiration for creating the space was largely built on the idea of paying tribute to old New York and making it a dining destination, whether you are visiting from out of town or you live in the neighborhood. We think diners will enjoy the signature touches we have woven into the concept, from our modern tavern fare to the custom artwork and top-of-the line service."
