UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — Several streets on the Upper East Side will be blocked off for car-free trick-or-treating over the weekend for Halloween festivities, according to the New York City Department of Transportation.
These closures will be part of a record 160 Open Streets across the five boroughs that will host free Halloween and fall festivities, Mayor Zohran Kwame Mamdani and city Department of Transportation Commissioner Mike Flynn said.
Activities across the city will include trick-or-treating, face painting, live entertainment and games, with cultural organizations, community groups and schools helping turn neighborhood streets into gathering spaces.
