Woman Jumps To Death From Upper East Side Co-op Building, Police Say

The 69-year-old woman fell to her death from the 11th floor of a building on the corner of First Avenue and East 72nd Street.

UPPER EAST SIDE, NY — A woman jumped to her death from the 11th story of an Upper East Side apartment building on the corner of First Avenue and East 72nd Street Friday morning, an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

The 69-year-old woman — who was not identified — landed on the building's second floor and was pronounced dead at the scene shortly before noon, police told Patch.

The investigation into the woman's death remains ongoing, but she left a note at the scene an NYPD spokesman told Patch.

The building the woman jumped from is known as The East View House. The development is a luxury co-op development that rises 20 stories and contains more than 150 apartment units, according to real estate listing site StreetEasy.
