Patrick Healey: Missing 21-Year-Old NYU Student Found Dead In Hudson River, Police Say

The man was last seen Sunday, July 10, at his residence on the 300 block of West 83rd Street.

Upper West Side, NY — Police recovered the body of a missing 21-year-old New York University student Thursday from the Hudson River. EMS pronounced the man, identified as Patrick Healey, dead when they arrived on scene, police told Patch.

Police were responding to a report of a body found along the Hudson River in the 34th Precinct — which covers Washington Heights and Inwood.

An investigation will determine the cause of death.

Healey was reported missing on Wednesday, police said. He was last seen at his residence on the 300 block of West 83rd Street on Sunday, July 10, according to police.

Healey was a senior at New York University where he was a member of the varsity track and cross country team.

ā€œNYU is saddened to learn of the death of Patrick Healey, a senior in the College of Arts and Science and a mathematics major, who was in NYC for a summer internship," said NYU spokesman John Beckman. "Our deepest sympathies go out to his family and loved ones. The University is making counselors available to support those affected.ā€

Originally from Danbury, Connecticut, Healey graduated from Danbury High School. Healey earned 2016 All-Academic honors this season from the University Athletic Association, according to the NYU athletics website.
