UPPER WEST SIDE, NY — City officials have ordered a neighborhood restaurant on Amsterdam Avenue between West 93rd Street and West 92nd Street to close for racking up 13 violations during a health inspection, records show.
New Asia, a Chinese takeout restaurant located at 666 Amsterdam Ave., was ordered to close on Monday after inspectors reported rats, roaches, flies and improper food safety controls, according to publicly available city records.
The closure comes after the restaurant was cited for 60 violations the week prior.

The restaurant will need to correct the violations before it can reopen.
