The money is paying for things like a new transportation van, expanded classes, and other services aimed at youth development, mental health, and violence prevention, all as part of a broader state effort backed by Gov. Kathy Hochul.

• Utica man gets two years for Ulster County drug crimes (cnyhomepage.com) — A Utica man has been sentenced to two years in federal prison for his role in a cocaine trafficking ring centered in Kingston and Ulster County. Federal investigators say he was part of a larger network moving significant quantities of cocaine and crack. Several co-defendants have already been sentenced or still face substantial mandatory minimum prison terms.
